Big Boy Bed
As you may know from an earlier post, we had to put a crib tent on Jack's bed a few months ago. We knew he wasn't ready for a big boy bed when he crawled out of his crib. He is not the type to just stay in bed and go to sleep if he has the freedom to get out and roam around.
Well, yesterday our neighbors had a garage sale and they were selling Sam's toddler bed for $20. So we thought - what the heck! Let's see what happens.
Jack was so excited. He loves the bed - thinks it's the coolest thing ever. Especially with the Sesame Street bedding (also Sam's). But just as we suspected, he got into bed and then immediately jumped out of bed and opened his door as soon as we left the room. We tried to explain that he had to stay in his bed and go to sleep...with no luck. So back into the crib he went. He's just not ready yet. But if anyone has any experience with this or words of advice for switching a VERY ACTIVE boy into a big boy bed....please spill!

So cute! I have no tips for an active little boy but I know my day is coming! :) Occasionally Magnolia gets out of bed but without reacting, saying anything, or making eye contact we put her right back into bed and walk out. Seems to work but she has never given us the challenge of bounding out of bed again and again. :)
