Jack's Baby

Yesterday was a big day. Not only was it Thanksgiving, but it was the day that Jack got his baby. It has been clear for some time now that Jack wants a baby. Not a baby brother, a baby of his own. Everytime he has a playdate with one of his girl friends, he wants to play with their baby doll. And at a Mom's Day Out program that we recently visited, the teacher and I peered over to find Jack attempting to "nurse" a doll in the corner. That was a good one.

So much to Daddy's dismay, Mommy insisted that we get Jack a baby. Mommy looked everywhere for a little boy baby, then finally settled on a girl baby in a blue outfit. Good enough.

Jack is thrilled! He took his baby to Nana and Papa's house for Thanksgiving yesterday, and slept with baby last night. Don't get me wrong...he is not the most nurturing of mothers. He had lots of fun throwing his baby over the banister and tossing her around the house. (This made Daddy feel a little better). But he also gave her lots of kisses and hugs. He definitely loves his baby, no matter how he shows it.
